SABMiller appoints Mihai Barsan as VP for marketing in Romania

Beer producer Ursus Breweries named Mihai Barsan (in picture) as marketing vice-president, replacing Grant McKenzie, who will lead parent company SAB Miller’s marketing team in the Czech Republic. Barsan, 33 years old, will take on the new job from the beginning of April this year. He joined Ursus Breweries in 2005, after working with Procter and Gamble in the Balkans region.

Grant McKenzie joined Ursus Breweries in 2010, after running the marketing department of SABMiller Canary Islands.

Ursus also confirmed Krzysztof Andrzejewski as vice-president for sales and distribution. He has been interim VP since September 2011 and will continue as interim head of the financial department until someone new is appointed.

Ursus Breweries, the largest brewer in Romania by turnover, posted EUR 279 million in turnover in 2010 and a loss of EUR 20.9 million, according to Ministry of Finance data. Their brands include Timişoreana, Ursus, Ciucaş, Peroni and Pilsner Urquell.
